PLAYER'S CARD FAQ'S


1.  What is the Player’s Card? 

The Player’s Card is a key tag card that all players are required to have to participate in Sports Connection Leagues, Camps and Programs.  Upon completion of a waiver and paying the card fee, each player’s information and photo is entered into our system and the card is issued. 


2.  What is the Player’s Card Fee?

The annual fee is $25 per player for an Individual Player’s Card.

3.  Is there a Family Player’s Card Rate?
Yes.  The annual fee is $35 for a Family Player's Card.  The Family Player's Card is valid for Married Couples and any Dependents ages 16 and under living at the same address.

4.  Why do I have to pay a fee for a Player’s Card?

Our operating costs have significantly increased over the past 10 years and our prices have not.  Rather than raising our league and program fees to keep up with the rising operating costs, we have implemented a Player’s Card fee to help defray a portion of the increased costs to continue provide quality leagues and programs.  Examples of increased operating costs include Park & Recreation field rental increases, ongoing facility maintenance and improvements, new indoor turf field, new outdoor field, additional parking and new league management system (MySAM).


5.  Who needs a Player’s Card?

All players and participants of any Sports Connection program.  Each player or participant will be required to have a Player’s Card before being allowed to play in any league or program.  The Player’s Card will help enforce roster regulations and help track ejected and banned players and help provide a safer and more organized league.


6.  When do I need to have my Player’s Card?

A Player’s Card is required for ALL leagues and programs that start after October 1, 2008.


7.  When does my Player’s Card expire?

Your Player’s Card is valid for one full year from date of issue.


8.  How do I purchase a Player’s Card?

Player’s Cards can be purchased using MySAM (fastest and easiest way), through our website at SportsConnectionNC.com, in person at either Sports Connection location (11611 Ardrey Kell – Ballantyne area or 10930 Granite Street – Westinghouse area) or by phone 704-583-1444.  

If you purchase your Player’s Card online, or by phone, you can pick up your Player’s Card and have your photo taken at the front desk of our Ballantyne or Granite Street location.  You can also pick up your Player’s Card at the field before your next game, and we will have laptops at your games periodically to take your photo and enter into our MySAM system.  Having your photo on file will keep you from having to bring an ID to your game.  Players will not be allowed to play without a valid Player’s Card.  Player’s Cards need to be purchased BEFORE arriving at your game.

9.  What happens if I forget my Player’s Card?
Please treat your Player’s Card as you would any other game or activity essential.  Depending on the location of your game or activity, some of the leagues and programs may not require actual presentation of the Player’s Card once a photo and valid Player’s Card is on file. 


10.  What happens if I lose my card?

The replacement fee is $5.00. 


11.  Are guest players allowed?

Yes.  Guest players are allowed, but are required to pay a $10 guest fee if they do not already have a valid Player’s Card.  Guest players without a valid Player’s card will also need to submit a Sports Connection waiver.  The guest fee is good for 1 day or night only.


12.  I have been a loyal player for years…will you waive the Player’s Card fee for me?

Thank you for your loyalty.  The Player’s Card fee is a price increase for ALL Players and it costs loyal, multi-season players much less annually than a company wide price increase would. 


13.  Are there other benefits of having a Sports Connection Player’s Card?

Yes.  The Sports Connection offers various specials and discounts when you show your valid Player’s Card at the Sports Connection Family Entertainment Center in Ballantyne.  Discounts and specials from our sponsor bars and social groups may also be offered periodically.  All specials and discounts can be viewed on our website at SportsConnectionNC.com.  Your Sports Connection Player’s Card is also valid at the Charlotte Sports Center and a Charlotte Sports Center Player’s Card is valid at the Sports Connection. 

 
14.  What if a company or business pays for our league fee, or our team only plays one season per year?  Do we still need a player’s card?

Yes.  Every player is required to have a valid Player's Card.  However, there is an option for a "Single Season Team Rate" that includes the cost of a single season Player's Card for each player.  The Single Season Player's Cards expire at the end of that season and all players are still required to sign a waiver and have their information and photo entered into our system.  Payment is due in FULL at the time of registration for the Single Season Team Rate, NO EXCEPTIONS.  No deposits will be accepted and the maximum number of players per team does not change.  Single Season Team Rates that include Player's Cards are:

Payment Information

The Individual Player's Card fee is $25 annually and the Family Player's Card fee is $35 annually.  Once your Registration Form has been received and processed (within 24-48 hours), you will receive an email with instructions to log into our secure and encrypted online system to process your payment.
